Goals for session:
1. Improve on my OHI and using the books and other items to help give my patient a visual of what I am trying to explain
2. Complete OD in 35 min.
3. Improve on my x-rays
Session Review:
I think that today was the hardest day for me. It didn't start out good when I fell at work in the morning and my knee was turning black and blue from the fall and my arm hurt from falling on it. I wasn't able to get past the OD. My patient was a class III and was really difficult to probe. I tried getting around my patient's calculus but I wasn't getting the same probe depths as Professor Costley. She was getting 9's and 8's and my highest was a 6. I really need to work on my probing with those that are not class 1B's. I really wanted to work on my x-rays because my x-rays haven't been turning out the best. Meagan gave me good advice and told me to try and visualize where the teeth and the x-ray tube are parallel and line it up. It made more sense and it really helped with me. I just hope that I can do it on my own. I do need to work on my gingiva descriptions and knowing what is what. My patient's gingiva looked normal but I guess that I missed what blunted gingiva looked like and so on.
